New Delhi: Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan who are busy promoting their upcoming film, 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania' were in shock when the car they were travelling in met with an accident.
The duo were at Ahmedabad for the promotions, they were on the way to their hotel from airport when this occurred. A car belonging to Assistant Commissioner of Police, J N Parmar rammed into the luxury sedan the actors were traveling in.
"Both the stars were seated at the back. It was around 11 am and the car had stopped at a traffic signal. The driver of a car just behind them lost control and rammed into their car. The impact shattered the rear windscreen completely. A few shards even landed on the backseat. Varun and Alia quickly jumped out, visibly shaken but unhurt", said a source to a leading daily.
The actors were immediately shifted to another car before they could be mobbed by fans. But as per the police a source, Alia was not inside the car when the accident took place.
ACP J N Parmar, who retired from service, stated: "Yes, my car met with an accident on Monday morning. Fortunately, I was not in the car. Since the driver told me that the matter had been settled, I didn't ask him for details."
Varun confirmed the news of accident while talking to a daily. "I was in the yellow Audi whose rear glass was completely shattered. It was very scary."
