New Delhi: Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha starrer ‘Tevar' failed to make much impact at the box office and collected a moderate sum of Rs. 7.05 crore on its opening day.
As reported by koimoi, the film had average occupancy in the morning shows and it did not improve much later in the day.
‘Tevar' has received mixed reviews by critics, most of them terming it an average entertaining film.
Made under the budget of Rs. 30 crore, Tevar did an average business on its first day and if it keeps up the same speed, it could do good business overall. But considering that the film is not liked by many, it is highly unlikely that it would pace up by word of mouth.
Tevar's collection comes third on Arjun Kapoor's highest openers. ‘Gunday' earned Rs. 16.12 crore and ‘2 States' had done Rs. 12.42 crore on its first day.
Produced by Arjun's father Boney Kapoor, ‘Tevar' is expected to affect PK's business. The film had a very good run at the box office for three weeks. PK is also one of the reasons behind Tevar's slow opening because there are still a few moviegoers who would prefer to watch PK over a masala film.
Directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, Tevar also stars Manoj Bajpayee in an important role.
