New Delhi: The film adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's bestselling novel Half Girlfriend, will have actors Sushant Singh Rajput and Katrina Kaif in lead roles, according to rumours. The movie will be directed by Mohit Suri.
There have been many speculations about the actress in the movie. Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif were also competing each other for the role, but the latter showed more interest.
A source revealed to a leading entertainment portal, “Deepika was approached to play the female lead for the Half Girlfriend. It is a coming of age romcom set in rural areas. As the girl comes from an elite, polished background both Deepika and Katrina suit the role.”
Earlier, Sushant got another chance to romance with Katrina Kaif, when he was being considered for ‘Fitoor'. But Aditya Roy Kapoor bagged the role later.
It was also rumoured that Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan were considered for the lead pair. They rejected the roles to give preference to Karan Johar's ‘Shuddhi'. After Varun rejected the offer, it went on to Sidharth Malhotra. He too refused to be a part of the movie which demanded him to be a Bhojpuri speaking boyfriend.
After a lot of troubles, seems Mohit Suri has finally got the lead actors for his movie. It would be nice to see this fresh pair on silver screen.
