Mumbai: A BMW car belonging to tandup comedian Sunil Grover, popularly known as Guthi, hit an Alto car on Navi Mumbai-Belapur-Panvel highway today, in which three persons sitting inside the Alto were injured.
All the three persons have been admitted to hospital. Sunil Grover did not suffer any injury, police said.
The mishap took place near Navi Mumbai Kharghar railway station on Friday afternoon.
Sunil Grover was going to attend a programme in Pune.
Asked by reporters, Grover said his car's tyre suddenly burst leading to the mishap, but the Alto driver Srirang Lokhande alleged that the comedian's car was being driven at very high speed and the driver lost control leading to tyre burst.
Lokhand suffered the maximum injuries. Among the three injured, one is a resident of Bhandup, Mumbai and the other two belong to Pune.
Kharghar police has filed an FIR and the BMW driver has been arrested. He will be produced in court tomorrow, said API Ramchandra Talwalkar.
Sunil is popularly known as ‘Gutthi' of ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil' and currently he is running his own show ‘Mad In India'.
