Mumbai: Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit's fans have named a star after her in the Orion constellation.
The 45-year-old diva, who spent two decades in the Hindi film industry establishing herself as one of the leading actresses and accomplished dancers, took to her Twitter page to thank her fans for the honour.
“Wanted to thank my fans for the honour. They had a star in the Orion constellation named after me!,” she tweeted today.
She also posted a picture of the certificate given to her by the Star Foundation, which read, “A celestial body in the sky above has been named in honour of Madhuri Dixit-Nene and is officially located in the constellation Orion.” The certificate was handed over to her by the members of the foundation on the sets of reality show “Jhalak Dikhla Ja” recently.
Madhuri is not the only Bollywood star to have a celestial body named after her. The International Lunar Geographic Society, a New York-based organization, has christened a lunar crater in the moon's Sea of Tranquillity after superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
