Mumbai: Filmmaker Amit harma, who is making his directorial debut with "Tevar", says his lead actors in the film Sonakshi Sinha and Arjun Kapoor were given to him as a gift by Arjun's father Boney Kapoor.
"Sonakshi and Arjun were given to me as a gift by Boney sir. I was very happy that I didn't have to run behind the actors," said the director.
"I have seen Arjun's earlier films but when I met him for the first time, I saw the gravity in his face... and at that point I told him you are my Pintu, the next door boy from UP in my film. His character in the film is very instinctive and innovative so it was interesting to bring the character alive on screen," he added.
"Tevar" is being produced by Boney and Sanjay Kapoor and is slated for Jan 9 release.
Sharma, who was previously an ad filmmaker, also thanked Boney for helping him start his directorial journey with "Tevar".
"It was producer Boney Kapoor who made me part of this film and from there my journey began. I see 'Tevar' as a small town film and I wanted to shoot in Agra and Mathura and Boney sir supported me. The film is very realistic."
