New Delhi: Big B, Dhanush and Akshara Haasan starrer Shamitabh has collected Rs 7.80 cr nett in India within two days of its release. The movie has received mixed reviews from critics but most of them are positive, still the flick isn't able to capitalize at box office.
On its opening day, the movie garnered Rs 3.5 cr as confirmed by trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh, “#Shamitabh Fri Rs 3.5 cr. India biz.”
The movie had managed a decent growth on Day 2 i.e. the 1st Saturday collecting Rs 4.30 cr. The R Balki directorial should manage a collection of over Rs 6 cr to take its weekend collection to a respectable total of around Rs 15 cr nett.
The movie is mostly being praised for its stars' performances and particularly Amitabh Bachchan whose act is considered to be one of his best till date.
Dhanush who has played a mute character in the flick too is winning applause. The week day collection is expected to drop but even if it earns Rs 2 cr on an average, it will take its total to around Rs 23 cr in a week which is much necessary considering three new releases and the ICC Cricket World Cup which commences from Feb 14th taking away the limelight.
Roy starring Ranbir Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez and Arjun Rampal is one the biggest releases of the year while Mallika Sherawat's ‘Dirty Politics' too is being looked forward.
‘Guru' Ram Rahim Singh's ‘MSG' too will finally see the light of the day next Friday.
