New Delhi: Actor Shahid Kapoor is upset after the debacle of ‘Shaandaar'. Directed by Vikas Bhal, of ‘Queen' fame, Shahid romanced actress Alia Bhatt in the movie. The lead pair had huge expectations from the movie but their hard work went in vain when it flopped.
If rumours are to believed Shahid had put three movies on hold. He had stated that he would finalise his remuneration after ‘Shaandaar's' release. Now that his last release bombed, he wasn't offered the other movies as well.
Grapevine is rife with the news that Shahid only signed the movie because of his good terms with the makers. But now, he has become extra cautious.
Sources close to the actor reveal that Shahid doesn't want to go the Ranbir Kapoor way. Ranbir touched a low point on his career graph when his movies, Besharam and Bombay Velvet failed to woo viewers.
An insider told a leading daily, “After the failure of Shaandaar, Shahid wants to make sure he doesn't repeat the same mistake twice - like Ranbir Kapoor's Besharam and Bombay Velvet. He has decided that every time he gets the script from a filmmaker, he will send it to professional script supervisors to analyse the potential of the script. There is a professional agency who actually deals with this. A lot of established actors are going this route.”
On the movie front, Shahid is currently busy with ‘Rangoon' and ‘Udta Punjab'. Only time will decide how these movies affect Shahid's career.
