New Delhi: Movie buffs were taken by a shock when it was revealed that Shah Rukh Khan's Raees and Salman Khan's Sultan will release on the same day the Eid of 2016.
The clash of the ‘Khans' on the silver screen was never a happy affair for the fans, who wish to see the movies of both the actors.
However, as per the latest reports, this collision between Salman and Shah Rukh can be averted.
A senior trade expert, while talking to a leading daily, said, "Now, both the stars are on good terms, so sitting down and discussing won't be a problem. Also, for Shahrukh, the opposite party is Yash Raj (the producers of Sultan), with whom he shares very good relations, so negotiation is possible. This, however, is not the case with Bajirao Mastani, which involves Bhansali and Eros. Here, it is more of an ego clash.''
Shah Rukh Khan's Dilwale and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani are releasing on the same day – December 18.
''It all depends on how these films (Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani) fare at the box office, and the situation might then change. Then, there is a possibility that Shahrukh and Salman will sit together and mutually decide and one of them might shift the release date. When there are huge stars involved, it is they who take the call about most of the important decisions of their films, not the producers,” he further added.
Interestingly, when Shah Rukh Khan was earlier asked about his movie's clash with that of Salman, he had cleared the air of ‘rivalry' or competition.
'There is no issue. Let them also release. It's very simple, their distribution and production offices feel their film should release on Eid, while my distribution office feels that ours is designed for Eid. So, we both have decided (to release the films on the same date), but there's no clash the way it's being made out to be,” SRK said.
Shah Rukh Khan is playing a bootlegger in Raees, while Salman Khan will be seen in the role of a wrestler based in Haryana.
While audiences are eagerly waiting for both Shah Rukh and Salman's respective movies, only time will tell if they will clash at the box office or not.
