Reacting to Salman Khan's acerbic comments on Guzaarish and its director Sanjay Leela Bhansali , Hrithik Roshan had hit back at Salman, saying, “It's not heroic to laugh or make fun of a filmmaker just because his box-office collections are not up there with yours (referring to the Dabangg collections obviously). "Guzaarish is a super success in its own way. And I will be hurt if anyone talks like this about Mr Bhansali. In my opinion a hero never gloats.
"When you are super successful, it should in fact make you more gracious and loving. This is the time one should use to turn even enemies into friends... just give love, not laugh at others.
"By the time I finish this sentence, I would have already forgiven his words, because I know deep inside he only has love for me and this must have been just a momentary lapse of judgment. Will expect a big hug the next time I meet him.”
But Salman Khan isn't impressed with Hrithik's speech, it seems and he is certainly not in the mood to hug him either. The latest is that Salman has decided to lock horns with Hrithik at the box-office, reports Mumbai Mirror. Buoyant with his Dabangg success, Salman has apparently decided that his next Ready should compete with Hrithik's Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.
Bhushan Kumar is producing Ready. And Salman, they say, managed to convince Kumar that May 27, 2011, which is the day when Zoya Akhtar's Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara hits theatres, is the best day for Ready to release as well.
While the release date for Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara was decided nearly two months ago, Salman, it seems, met Kumar only after the Guzaarish fiasco. When contacted, Kumar told Mumbai Mirror, “Haan, maine zaroor Salman ke saath discuss kiya tha release date ke bare mein. We met about this last week.”
But would it be a good commercial decision for two big films to release on the same date? Replied Bhushan, “Kyun nahin? Is there any rule that we can't come on the same date?” Hrithik replied to Mumbai Mirror's message: “This does not warrant any reaction”.
