Mumbai, Jul 10 : Bollywood megastar Salman Khan is presently busy shooting for his brother Sohail's movie Mental in Hyderabad.
Sources close to him said, he will soon return to Mumbai and announce the remake of Hero, becoming a producer in the process. The 30-year-old film Hero was made by Subhash Ghai, and had launched Jackie Shroff as a star on Bollywood firmament.
Sources said, speculation is rife about Salman giving Suraj Pancholi the debut in the remake of Hero.
The master plan was prepared in Hyderabad four days ago, and Salman took time off from his shooting to give the 23-year-old Suraj Pancholi a real big jump in his career.
Salman is accepted to make the announcement on his return from Hyderabad. Apart from Suraj Pancholi, Salman will also launch Suneil Shetty's son Athaiya.
Salman is so much excited about the Hero remake that he has decided to prepone shooting which was scheduled for January 2014 to November 2013. He has asked his entire team to get on with the job, and recast the script according to present day requirements.
Suraj's father Aditya Pancholi is happy. He says, by the grace of God, things are now back in place, and the film will be shot before its due date.
Some superhit songs made by Laxmikant-Pyarelal will be added to this remake, with music director Sajid-Wajid (Salman's favourite from Dabangg days), busy preparing new songs.
Sources said, Salman has asked Suraj Pancholi to be prepared for this shooting. During his meeting with Suraj in Hyderabad on July 5, Salman told him to go to a gym and start exercises and focus on fitness.
Suraj Pancholi had worked as assistant director in Ek Tha Tiger starring Salman and Katrina Kaif. He had also worked as a body double for Salman in that movie. Salman was so happy with Suraj's performance that he gave the commitment to launch him in the Hero remake.
Salman and Suraj do not have a producer-newcomer relationship. At the height of Jiah Khan controvery, Suraj had met Salman late in the night and discussed the controversy with him till 3 am. Salman had then advised Suraj to learn lessons from past experiences and move ahead.
Suraj is presently out of bail after cooling his heels inside Arthur Road central jail for several weeks in the Jiah suicide case.
Says Aditya Pancholi: "Suraj is now feeling better. He has become a bit introvert now."
It was Jiah's mother Rabiah Khan who had alleged that the Hero remake issue led to strain in the relationship between Suraj and her daughter.
"I think, the day Suraj signed up for his debut film Hero with Salman, his behaviour completely changed. Jiah wanted to meet Salman. She said several times that she wanted to meet Salman and work his him, but Suraj did not allow her to meet", Rabiah had then said.
Jiah's mother Rabiah had disclosed that her daughter was struggling for a foothold in Bollywood. "Salman had boosted the careers of Katrina, Zarine and several other heroines. Jiah wanted to meet Salman and requested Suraj to help, but Suraj never allowed her to meet."
Salman has remained mum throughout the Jiah Khan suicide controversy, but now he has put his entire might in launching Suraj.
