New Delhi: The biggest Bollywood clash of 2016 has been avoided. According to the latest tweet of trade analyst Komal Nahta, the Khan vs Khan war at the box office will not occur at all.
Nahta tweeted this evening that Shah Rukh Khan's ‘Raees' will not release along with Salman Khan's ‘Sultan' this Eid.
In his tweet, he said that the release of ‘Raees' has been postponed.
Here's what Komal tweeted:
The announcement of the clash between the two movies had left trade experts wondering of the outcome. The war between the two Khans, who have a strong foothold at the box office, could have impacted the individual collections of both the movies immensely.
In 2015, the same day release of two highly anticipated movies ‘Dilwale' and ‘Bajirao Mastani' did not turn out well for both films. In fact, the stars of the movie had also accepted that they would have raked in more money had their movies been released independently.
Sultan' vs ‘Raees' was bound to be bigger than the 2015 clash. It also crossed the minds of insiders from the industry that this box office battle would affect their new found friendship. It took years for SRK and Salman to bury the hatchet and industry wasn't ready for their quarrel again, any time soon.
But with this news, the entire film industry can take a sig of relief. Post Eid, no one will be forced to take sides between the two Khans and their newfound bonhomie too will hopefully flourish.
Now, that SRK has delayed the release of ‘Raees', we will have to wait till he announces the new dates.
