Finally the moment has come when fans can claim that Salman Khan is the biggest superstar of Bollywood. Khan's latest film Bajrangi Bhaijaan has crossed the magical Rs 300 crore mark at the Indian box-office, thereby making it the second film to reach the enviable status after PK.
The cross-border drama, directed by Kabir Khan, reached the Rs 300 mark in just 20 days of its release on July 17. An elated Kabir posted on Twitter, "300+". "BB crosses 300 crore In India. Wednesday collection Rs 2.45 crore (outside India)," a statement from Eros International reads.
Bajrangi Bhaijaan centres around a man's journey to help a Pakistani mute girl to reach her native country. Unlike Salman's previous outings which focused on his action star persona, the film brought out the emotional and innocent sides of the superstar.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, "#BajrangiBhaijaan crosses 300 cr in India... 2nd film to achieve the ENVIABLE status, after #PK... 2nd HIGHEST grosser ever. Hindi films (sic)."
The film also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and marks the debut of child actor Harshaali Malhotra on the big screen.
