Mumbai : Bollywood couple Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor may go in for a trendy beach wedding in December in Maldives, says a Mail Today report.
Saif told mediapersons on Thursday that the venue of the wedding will be Maldives and that a select guest list of about 100 close friends and family members will be invited.
Saif told Mail Today that the wedding would take place “anytime around the year end and there is nothing that we are hiding about the wedding”.
As of now, wedding preparations in Pataudi Palace are on hold.
“We are clueless about the date and the arrangement. Earlier, the staff was instructed to make necessary arrangements because many guests were expected but now we have been asked to go slow on the preparations,” a source from Pataudi Palace said.
The wedding date was previously scheduled for October 16,but Kareena apparently called it off.
Saif's mother, Sharmila Tagore, had then announced that October 16 would be the wedding date and Kareena would wear the same sharara she wore at her wedding to Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi in 1969.
On Wednesday evening, while releasing the first trailer of her film, Heroine , in Mumbai, Kareena avoided giving any specifics about the wedding. “ Saif will take a call on the wedding date,” was all she said.
A section of the industry feels Kareena has reportedly decided to call off the wedding because she has now realised it could harm her career, which is flourishing right now.
Recently, Sanjay Leela Bhansali dropped Kareena from his new film, Ram Leela , because a married actress would not suit image of a Juliet opposite Ranveer Singh's Romeo role in the film. Kareena's camp however said she walked out of over monetary issues.
