Prabhu began his career in direction with Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana, and also made its remake in Hindi as Ramaiya Vastavaiya which did an average business.

Prabhu Deva gave super-hits to Bollywood with the remake of his Vijay-starrer film Pokkiri as 'Wanted' starring Salman Khan. After this, the dancer-cum-director also gave hits like 'Rowdy Rathore' and 'R…Rajkumar.'
