New Delhi: Abhishek Kapoor's upcoming film ‘Fitoor' has succeeded to stay in news for many reasons including Rekha's looks in the film and picturesque locations of Kashmir.

The film is again in news for starring Pakistani ghazal singer Talat Aziz opposite Rekha. Reportedly, his role is not just a cameo but he will be seen romancing with evergreen beauty of Bollywood.

The singer will be playing a diplomat from Pakistan in the film who romances with the begum.

A popular daily quoteed a source that is close to the project, "Aziz has been signed on to play a high profile diplomat from Pakistan, a key character in the film. He will be seen wooing Rekha."

The source added that Talat has already started shooting for the film, "He has been given an authentic and interesting look for the role. He has shot a few scenes with Rekha and their chemistry is quite good. As of now, we won't be able to reveal whether his character is inspired by an actual person. But, it is definitely going to be appealing.”

The role will be the debut of ace ghazal singer in Indian films. The singer has voiced many Bollywood numbers including ‘Zindagi Jab Bhi' in Umaro Jaan that starred Rekha in the title role.

Confirming the news, Aziz stated "It is true that I am playing a diplomat from across the border and have a romantic role opposite Rekha."

‘Fitoor' is said to be inspired by ‘Great Expectations,' one of the most popular novels of Charles Dickens.

The film stars Aditya Roy Kapur and Katrina Kaif in leading roles in the film. Aditya will be playing a young boy named Firdaus who falls in love with adopted daughter of begum, Noor played by Katrina.

It also stars Ajay Devgn and Aditi Rao Hydari in important roles.

‘Fitoor' is produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and is expected to release on Christmas next year.
