New Delhi: It looks like yesterday only when a shabby looking boy Ranveer Singh made it to the silver screen for the first time in ‘Band Baaja Baaraat' opposite Anushka Sharma in 2010.
While the movie marked the debut of Ranveer, it was also a debut for director Maneesh Sharma. Interestingly, ‘Band Baaja Baaraat' turned out to be a ‘superhit' and attained a critical and commercial success at the box office.
Ranveer Singh indeed became an overnight star with the success of his first movie and then there was no looking back for him.
Today, ‘Band Baaja Baaraat' completes five years of its release. It also marks five successful years of Ranveer Singh in the Bollywood industry.
In his five year career in the glam industry, Ranveer has tried his hands on varied roles like a handsome conman in ‘Ladies vs Ricky Bahl', a disguised robber in ‘Lootera', a Gujarati boy Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, a Bengali criminal in Gunday and not to forget his last release ‘Dil Dhadakne Do' where he plays a crazy funny bindas rich young boy.
So far Ranveer has acted in several films. Though, each of the film wasn't a hit at the box office, yet his performance as an actor was always appreciated.
And after five years in B-town, Ranveer Singh has indeed grown up from a irritating boy next door to a fierce warrior, that's what he plays in his upcoming movie ‘Bajirao Mastani'.
Although, working for ‘Bajirao Mastani' was a risky decision but Ranveer was sure that his decision would pay off.
"At a critical stage of my career, giving more than one year to a project, not doing anything else, shaving my head... The time this project took, in that much time you can do three films. It's a big gamble... It's a risk but somewhere I knew the pay off would be worth it," Ranveer told PTI in a recent interview.
The actor also shared his idea of success saying, “Nobody has a formula to know what is going to be a success or what is not going to be a success. You should trust your creative instincts. I was very excited about this film as it's a powerful story”.
As Ranveer Singh completes his ‘amazing' five years in Bollywood, the actor took it to Twitter to share his happiness. He is having a live chat with his fans on the micro-blogging site with a hashtag #5YearsOfRanveerSingh. The ‘Lootera' actor has even shared a pic of himself on Twitter with the caption, “Hey hey hey!! Allllrighty then .... Talk to me !!! #5YearsOfRanveerSingh”.
Ranveer Singh's historical drama ‘Bajirao Mastani' also starring Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra is all set to hit the theatres on December 18, 2015.
