New Delhi: It shouldn't come as a surprise that Ranveer Singh's energy has caught the attention of TV producers. They have tried to bring Ranveer on board for many projects but he is adamantly staying away from the small screen for a while.
Although Ranveer has politely declined many TV offers, it comes as a surprise to hear that his refusal proved to be Amitabh Bachchan's gain. The living legend Amitabh Bachchan, who can never be short of projects to work on, bagged the chance to host the Indian adaptation of the British TV series, ‘Tonight's The Night', only after Ranveer rejected it.
According to an insider from the industry, “The show producers wanted a fresh face to host the desi version of 'Tonight's The Night'. So, they met a few young actors. They had seen Ranveer's hosting skills at an awards ceremony and felt he would be ideal to entertain the audience that is part of this reality show in which ordinary people get the chance to live out their fantasies. The actor had showed interest initially, but later informed the makers about his unavailability.”
Ranveer, who is busy with his next movie ‘Bajirao Mastani', had stated a few days ago that the role was exhausting for him. Given his diligence, staying away from hosting TV shows might be a thoughtful decision by him. His spokesperson said, “Ranveer has received multiple offers for television shows but he has passed up on all of them in order to remain singularly focused on (his upcoming film) 'Bajirao Mastani'.”
Last year, due to a busy schedule, Ranveer had declined the offer to host the show ‘India Poochega Sabse Shaana Kaun' which was the Indian adaptation of 'Who's Asking'. The show then fell into the lap of superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
The 30-year-old actor, who is well-known for his wit, might never have imagined that his rejected offers would be taken up by superstars like Big B and King Khan. Long way to go, Ranveer!
