New Delhi: They may be too fancy in their world of entertainment but when it comes to celebrate any festive occasion, the Bollywood stars are never behind flaunting their religious side.

Celebs like Rani Mukerji, Jeetendra, Vivek Oberoi, Shraddha Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Govinda and others celebrated Ganeshotsav with full zeal.

The Ganpati celebration, which kicked off yesterday showed splendid hues of happiness and celebrations. The followers enjoyed the occasion with the delicious ‘modaks' to woo the lord.

Wishes and greeting were pouring in from all around and Bollywood celebs were also at fore to express their joy for the festival. Festive mood gripped the Bollywood brigade with several film stars taking a day off from work to celebrate Ganpati festival on Friday. While most actors installed the Ganesha idol at their residence or studio, several others took to Twitter to chant "Ganpati Bappa Morya".

Like every year, Salman Khan held a grand Ganesha puja at his residence, which was attended by his family members.

Salman is known to meticulously celebrate Ganesha utsav, a habit he claims to have picked up from his mother Salma, originally a Maharashtrian.

This time Arpita's beau Ayush Sharma too attended the family puja celebration.

Basking in the success of Mardaani, Rani was seen offering prayers at a glittering pandal in South Mumbai.

Most celebrities have vouched to celebrate the festival this year with eco-Ganesha, owing to the increasing pollution in the city and the fear of polluting the sea.

Actress Shraddha Kapoor was joined by singer Asha Bhosale and Padmini Kolhapure at her residence for celebrations with her family.

The actress, however, settled for an eco-Ganesha this year as, she said, it was beneficial to control rising pollution.

Actor Jeetendra, who religiously celebrates the festival, had a grand puja at his residence where he was joined by his children Tusshar and Ekta.

Jeetendra hasn't forgotten his roots; even today, before bringing in the celebrations at his posh Juhu residence along with producer daughter Ekta Kapoor; the veteran star makes sure that he first visits his old home at Girgaum, participates in the puja there and meets and greets his old friends.

Deepika Padukone surprised her fans when she made an appearance, on the sets of her upcoming film, dressed in a typical Maharashtrian style sari to extend her wishes on one of the most popular festivals of Mumbai.

In fact, the entire key cast of Happy New Year consisting of Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood and Boman Irani sent a joint message to their fans by posting a picture on Twitter.

She may have separated from her superstar husband Hrithik Roshan but that doesn't stop Sussanne from celebrating the festival. She looked pretty in white suit with pink dupatta.

Neil Nitin Mukesh celebrated the Ganesha puja with his parents and did all the rituals with zeal. Neil household has one of the most beautiful and largest Ganesha idols in the area.

The deity stays with the family for the whole 11-day period.

Other celebrities who welcome Ganpati into their homes include Govinda, Shilpa Shetty Kundra and Vivek Oberoi, while stars like Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor Khan and many others visit Ganesha pandals across the city during the festival.

TV celebs like Jay Bhanusali wih wife Mahi Vij and Sambhavana Seth too celebrated the Ganesh Puja with great enthusiasm.

After seeing the pictures all we can say is that Bollywood celebrities celebrated the festival with great pomp and splendor.
