Rani Mukerji birthday special: Her top performances so far...(see pics)

The queen of Bollywood Rani Mukerji has turned 35 today (March 21) and like ever before is ruling millions of hearts. The Actress stepped into the Film Industry with the flick titled “Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat”. The movie going cold at the Box Office, compelled Rani to step back for pursuing her studies, though was admired for her performance. Rani's vocal being her demerit, was asked for her line to be dubbed by another artiste in the movie ‘Ghulam'. But the Actress finally realized this weakness when asked by Karan Johar to work in Kuch-Kuch Hota Hai. The queen worked upon her voice and it became her trademark thereafter. The flick not only went superhit but also claimed her first Filmfare Award in the supporting role. Her husky voice was no more a reason for her downfall in the film Industry and she was welcomed with pleasure in other flick. From 1998-2003 Rani Mukerji gave numerous hits including Hello Brother, Hadh Kar Di Aapne , Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega, Nayak: The Real Hero ,Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... Mujhse Dosti Karoge and Saathiya. Among these “Saathiya” stood out to honor the actress with the Filmfare critics Award for the best Actress. But Rani finally became the queen in 2004 when she claimed the Filmfare best Actress title for “Hum Tum”.Earlier in the same year a bindaas housewife look of Rani was witnessed in Mani Ratnam's “Yuva”, while at the year end the role of an honest lawyer in ‘Veer-Zaara' was critically admired by the spectators. Yuva made her again the number one contender for the best Actress in supporting role at various Award ceremonies including Filmfare. Three hits and nominations in two different categories at numerous award ceremonies took the Actress to the top. There was no stoppage as Rani delivered the most challenging role of her life with excellence in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's “Black”. Playing a blind-deaf character was never an easy job, but the Actress delivered it with perfection and won numerous Awards. Bunty Aur Bubli and Paheli were the other commercial hits which Rani gave to the industry in the same year. It was first time for the Actress playing a foul-mouthed TV journalist in “No one killed Jessica”. More likely Rani delivered the act of a man, and was critically acclaimed winning once again best supporting Actress Award. With not too much to wait, the queen will be witnessed in ‘Bombay Talkies' while her voice will be accompanying a character in “Koochi Koochi Hota Hai”. For today it's party time as we wish Rani Mukerji a very happy Birthday.
