Mumbai, June 1: Music pulls in the audience for films, and actor Pulkit Samrat gives full credit to composer Ram Sampath for creating "killer" tunes for the forthcoming movie "Fukrey".
He calls Sampath a "genius".
"(The music of the film) is killer. Ram Sampath is a genius," Pulkit said here Friday on the sidelines of an event celebrating the success of the film's music.
Co-produced by Excel Entertainment, "Fukrey" has six tracks - "Fuk fuk fukrey", "Beda par", "Lag gayi lottery", "Jugaad kar le", "Rabba" and "Ambarsariya". Of these, "Fuk Fuk Fukrey" and "Ambarsariya" have struck the right chords with the music lovers.
While "Fuk fuk fukrey" is sung by debutant Amjad Bagadwa, Sampath's wife, singer Sona Mahapatra has sung "Ambarsariya".
Both Ram and Sona are partners in their music production house OmGrown Music. The two have earlier given successful music for Excel Entertainment's last venture "Talaash" and Aamir Khan's show "Satyamev Jayate".
Pulkit is especially impressed with "Ambarsariya".
"The way he (Ram Sampath) cracked the song 'Ambarsariya' and his rendition to that particular track is really nice. He has got the folk music from Punjab and has given it a very universal feel. That's really nice," added Pulkit, who was last seen in "Bittoo Boss".
Slated to release June 14, "Fukrey", directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, also features Manjot Singh, Ali Faisal, Richa Chadda and southern actress Priya Anand.
