Chennai: Veteran actor Rajendra Prasad, who will be next seen as a grandfather in the upcoming Telugu drama "Daagudumoota Dandakor", is excited about the film as he feels it will be one of the memorable roles of his career.
"Daagudumoota Dandakor" is the remake of last year's critically acclaimed Tamil film "Saivam".
"I was touched when I saw the original and I immediately accepted the offer. The film was extremely well made. Although I had reservations about playing a grandfather, the script finally convinced me that it will be one of the memorable roles of my career," Rajendra told IANS.
Rajendra's part was essayed by actor Nasser in the original.
"I thought Nasser was brilliant in the role. What I really liked about it is how different it is from the roles both of us have been playing in the last few years of our respective careers. I hope I do justice to the role," he said.
Will Rajendra half-shave his head like Nasser did in "Saivam"?
"Let's keep the look a secret. I'm experimenting with it," he added.
Directed by R.K. Malineni, the film is being produced by filmmaker Krish Jagarlamudi.
It is about a child's love for her rooster, which is on the verge of being sacrificed. Child artiste Sara Arjun will be playing the titular role.
