New Delhi: Business tycoon Raj Kundra's book titled, “How Not to Make Money” is being made into a full length English feature film of the same name.

The book, which was inspired by a real life story, hit the stands in the year 2013. Three years later, the book is being turned into a movie whose screenplay will be written by Ian La Frenais.

La Frenais is an English writer best known for his association with another writer Dick Clement. Though he came to the limelight due to his creativity in the Jason Statham starrer, The Bank Job, he has also written for television series like The Likely Lads, Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads?, Porridge, Lovejoy and Auf Wiedersehen, Pet.

Speaking about having Ian on board, Raj told a leading daily, "Ian was the producers' first and only choice. Ian fit the bill perfectly since his 2008 thriller was about a foolproof bank robbery on London's Baker Street and my book is on similar lines.”

He also pointed out that getting a movie made on the book wasn't an easy task. "It took me five years to write the book and my team in UK and I had been working to adapt the book into a film for the past two years," he said.

The book described as a gripping thriller revolves around the lives of three friends who live in the same London neighbourhood. Out of the three, Jai and Mike are smugglers and Aziz a corporate lawyer who helps them develop a plan to make money instantly. It traces the Missing Trader Fraud that caused the loss of over a billion euros to the UK and Europe governments in the first decade of the 21st century.

When asked if he would debut on the silver screen with this movie, the husband of actress Shilpa Shetty chuckled, “If I could, I'd love to play one of the three criminals.” Talking about the protagonists who inspired him to write the story, he added, "The three boys are doing something completely wrong with all their heart. Their word is their word and this is a quality I admire most in people."
