Mumbai, Mar 2:Actor Amit Sadh, who is revelling in the success of his latest release "Kai Po Che", says he is proud of his experience on the small screen.
"I am very grateful to television. When I came here 10 years ago, I didn't have money even for food. Then Neena Gupta offered me 'Kyun Hota Hai Pyaar'.
I am very grateful to them, they gave me work. I learnt acting while working for TV. I am very proud of my TV experience," Amit said here Thursday at the success party of the film.
He hopes that other filmmakers will also follow Abhishek Kapoor's way of working and give TV actors like him and debutant Sushant Singh Rajput a chance to do films.
"I just hope like Abhishek Kapoor who gave us this opportunity, other filmmakers will get encouraged and will do the same and TV actors will also like it," said Amit.
He said very often TV actors are told that they can never do films.
"TV actors get depressed, like I was, because people used to tell me, 'You are a TV actor and you won't be able to do films'. But I have done such a big film. So it's a great time," Amit said.
Amit has done another TV show "Durgesh Nandini" and was also on the first season of "Bigg Boss".
Sushant, who played one of the lead actors in "Kai Po Che", also started his career on the small screen with the hit daily soap "Pavitra Rishta."
