Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra has walked out of a jinxed film, a Bollywood remake of the Hollywood film Bride Wars, says a media report.

Film producer Goldie Behl's sister Shrishti Arya had announced the film with much fanfare in September, 2009. The original Hollywood film starred Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway playing best friends who are at war to get married on the same day and venue.

To refresh:  Shrishti Arya was the producer of Drona, one of Bollywood's biggest box-office disasters. The Behl camp has been trying to regain lost ground since then.

Shrishti's remake ran into its first hiccups when Katrina Kaif walked out from the project.

Rumour had it that she didn't want to star in a film, which would also have Priyanka in an equivalently strong role.

Katrina also walked out from Anurag Basu's Barfi (earlier titled Silence) after Priyanka came on board.

Another tragedy struck the film when Manish Acharya (of The Loins Of Punjab Presents fame), who was supposed to direct the film, fell off a horse in Matheran in December 2010 and passed away.

And now, Priyanka's exit. The report quotes a source: "The film was supposed to start mid-last year. It's almost a year more now. Since it is so delayed, obviously dates ka problem to honewala hi tha."

Already Priyanka Chopra has a lot on her plate: Don 2, Agneepath, Silence and Krrish 2, to name a few.

Shrishti said, "That film is all up in the air now. After Manish passed away I have been trying to get a new director. He or she will be finalized in the next two weeks. So the film is definitely going to happen. Let things fall into place."

Does Priyanka remain in the film? Said Shrishti, "It's very difficult for me to say that. She has no dates for the next two years. Let's see what happens."

As of now, Shrishti is busy with a small film starring John Abraham and Chitrangada Singh.
