New Delhi: Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer PK is adding moolah to its box office collection by earning Rs 56.13 cr nett in India that too in just two days.
Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the movie on its second day witnessed a growth of around 15 per cent compared to its Friday collection (26.63 cr) and earned Rs 29.50 cr, according to a leading daily Koimoi.
For some this may sound a bit average performance at box office since, the movie created much buzz prior its release and with critics giving their nod, PK's performance was expected at par or something similar to Aamir's earlier release Dhoom 3, which earned Rs 69.58 cr within two days of its non-holiday release.
Nevertheless, PK's second day collection indicates that positive reviews and word of mouth have done the trick as it's rare for a movie show growth on its second day, however, the third day i.e., Sunday always proves to be the biggest day in terms of collections.
Likewise, looking at its growing viewership, the movie which also stars Anushka Sharma, Boman Irani, Sushant Singh Rajput, Saurabh Shukla should do Rs 35 cr + business on Sunday in India.
Meanwhile compared to this year's earlier blockbuster, PK's two days' collection is the second highest after Shah Rukh Khan's ‘Happy New Year', which collected Rs 76.57 cr nett in India while overall the former stands on fourth position.
Dhoom 3 takes the second spot with its two days collection of Rs 69.58 cr nett while Chennai Express grabs third with Rs 67.85 cr earnings in India including paid preview shows.
Salman Khan's action-drama Kick stands fifth with Rs 53.65 cr collection on the other hand Hrithik Roshan's Bang Bang, Salman's Ek Tha Tiger and Krrish 3 follow with two days collection of Rs 51.64 cr, Rs 47.47 cr and Rs 45.85 cr respectively.
There are no doubts that the record sheet is going to witness a drastic change with PK sooner going to top all the charts in the coming days.
Here are the figures of PK - Friday and Saturday
