New Delhi: The Pakistan today banned the Riteish Deshmukh-Pulkit Samrat satire ‘Bangistan', which is slated to hit the box office on 31 July, from release in the Islamic country.

Shocked by the decision, the film's co-producer, Ritesh Sidhwani, said he will fight it out.

"Basing their judgement on the trailer alone, they have decided that the film is anti-Pakistan and anti-Muslim. If anything, it's anti-terrorism and since Pakistan is as much a victim of this global menace as any other country, it is in their interest to screen the film. It's message is that it's foolish to give up your life for a cause you'll not live to fight for," said. Sidhwani.

Sidhwani, reportedly, has written to the ministry asking for a review of the decision.

He has also applied for visa to Pakistan as the determined producer wants to convince the ministry and censor board by showing them his movie.

"I'd like to show the film to the ministry and the censor boards to prove that our intentions are fair," he said.

Interestingly, a few days ago, Pakistan Censor Board not only approved the release of Salman Khan starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which revolves around India and Pakistan, but also praised it by calling it a positive film for Pakistan.
