New Delhi: TV actor Anuj Sachdeva, who currently plays the lead in the soon-to-go-off-air show "Chhanchhan", is not willing to settle for anything but the main character in any future project.
He says that the kind of roles offered to an actor depends on the way he or she is pitched in the market.
"I would not do a parallel lead. I would do only the main lead. I believe that it is tough to make a choice. With time, people have to bend. How they work depends how they are pitched in the market. Till the time I can, I will make a choice," Anuj told IANS.
The actor is also making his foray into Punjabi films with "Haani".
"The film ended in March. The whole film is about two eras. It is about a love story which was left incomplete, and my character manages to complete it later," said the actor, who has featured in shows like "Sabki Ladli Bebo" and "Phir Subah Hogi".
Anuj also added that he is a "director's actor" and that he shared a good bond with the film's director, Amitoj Maan.
"It is a romantic film and has a good story. It was a good experience to work with everyone. I am a director's actor, so it was easier for me to connect to the director. He got all work done out of me," he said.
The film released Friday. Depending on the response to the project, Anuj wants to decide his future work.
"It all depends on the film's response. If it works well, then I will get more work out of it. Then I can pick what is the best for me," he said.
He is still open to TV as long as he can balance the dates with his film shoots.
"I don't mind taking up a reality show or any other show. But it has to be flexible with my timings. In a daily soap, it is tough to manage," he said.
