One film wonder: Bhagyashree was unfit for Bollywood

Mumbai:She had ideal innocent face. She knew how to act. She got sensational debut in Rajshri Production's blockbuster Maine Pyar Kiya in 1989. The film became a landmark in 80's. Everyone believed that this girl would break all the record. She would be seen as a next superstar of bollywood.but destiny had some other plan in store. Soon after her first movie release she got married with childhood sweetheart Himalaya. It is said that after marriage she only wanted to work opposite her husband and that was not a condition most directors were willing to work with, even she rejected an offer of Rs.10 lakh for a film, which was a huge amount in those days for a complete newcomer, soon after she stopped getting offers. After marriage she did only three films all opposite to her husband films Qaid Main Hai Bulbul, Tyagi, Payal.but she couldn't recreate the same magic again. By now she is a mother of two kids. Let's see the journey of this beautiful actress in movies and TV---1.She hails from a royal background. Her family belongs to Patwardhans from Sangli city in Maharashtra. Her father was Maharaja of Sangli. 2.She was born on the same day and year of the legendary actress Madhubala's death.Madhubala died on 23rd February in 1969. 3.Her entry into the industry was an accident when her neighbor actor director Amol Palekar asked her to act in his serial as the signed actress abandoned the show abruptly.4.She started her acting career with Kachhi Dhoop - a television serial by Amol Palekar.The serial did well and after that, she was seen in Honi Anhoni and Kissa Miya Biwi Ka. 5.She got into the fame with her role in Rajshri Productions' 'Maine Pyar Kiya' opposite Salman Khan. After that, she was seen in many unsuccessful films. Her career could not take high after 'Maine Pyar Kiya'. 6.‘Maine Pyaar kiya' would be always remaining close to her. She told in interview, while shooting for this movie a lot of things were running parallel in my personal life. Like the scene in the movie where they Reemaji (Lagoo) and (costar) Salman (Khan) get together and pull the character's leg by discussing the proposal of a prospective bridegroom that has come for Salman. During that time I was seeing Himalayaji, he and his mother would pull my leg in a similar manner. Then the marriage sequence in the movie was held three days prior to my marriage in real life. 7.She is the promoter of a media company Shrishti Entertainment with her husband.They made serial like Kagaz Ki Kashti and Tanha Dil Tanha Safar. 8.Bhagyashree is married to Himalaya Dasani and the couple has two children, Avantika and Abhimanyu. 9.After a gap of several years, she made a comeback with a television serial named Aandhi Jasbaton ki. She also acted in Didi La Dulha a comic crapper on Doordarshan channel. She was seen in one Marathi film 'Zhak Marli Bayko Keli' in 2009. 10.She once told in interview, I am not comfortable playing prostitute on screen as role requires one has to be loud or crass.
