Chandigarh: The producers of Dera Saccha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh starrer "MSG - The Messenger of God" claimed Friday that they have got the required permission from the censor board for the movie's release.
Dera Saccha Sauda's spokesman Pawan Insan told IANS that they received the formal letter of approval from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) Friday. He added that the film can be released within a week.
The movie, which is based on the theme of eradicating drug addiction, alcoholism, prostitution and other social evils, is scheduled to be released simultaneously in Hindi, English, Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu. MSG was shot over 67 days at different locations across the country.
Earlier, the censor board had objected to the film's release fearing it would cause communal tension and had also raised objections on the content of the movie and the manner in which Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh projected himself as a ‘Godman'.
