New Delhi: Unperturbed by the box office battle among last week's releases Finding Fanny and Creature 3D, the Priyanka Chopra starrer ‘Mary Kom' has come up as a clear winner, which has crossed Rs 50 cr mark by its second weekend.
The flick being a biopic of the Olympic medalist Mary Kom has worked extremely well in urban circuits particularly multiplexes. Even in the second weekend it flocked good Rs 7.5 cr taking the ten days total to Rs 53.50 cr nett in India, according to website Koimoi.
While the movie has got mixed response from critics, the tax-free step by numerous state governments has greatly helped the Omung Kumar's directorial to fetch more and more audience.
Finding Fanny starring Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor, Pankaj Kapur, Naseeruddin Shah and Dimple Kapadia as expected faced a decline in its collection on busy Monday where it just raked in Rs 2.5 cr.
According to one of the leading websites Bollywood Hungama, the movie's four days total now stands at Rs 22.4 cr nett in India while in abroad it's performing great. USA-Canada and UAE-GCC are the biggest contributors with Rs 2.74 cr and Rs 2.53 cr respectively. The four days worldwide collection of Homi Adajania's directorial is now Rs 29.15 cr.
Bipasha Basu's creature based drama ‘Creature 3D' has collected almost half of what Finding Fanny managed to fetch on Monday. The Vikram Bhatt directorial has made mere Rs 1.4 cr on its fourth day taking the total collection to only Rs 12.76 cr nett in India.
‘Creature 3D' has greatly disappointed critics as well as audience, which have resulted in a lukewarm response at ticket counters.
