Mandakini was born as Yasmeen Joseph on July 30, 1969.She is better remembered for her role in the 1985 movie Ram Teri Ganga Maili.At 16, she was cast in the lead role in Raj Kapoor's 1985 movie, Ram Teri Ganga Maili opposite his youngest son, Rajiv Kapoor. The film caused a stir in media because of two scenes: One in which Mandakini bathes in a waterfall wearing only a flimsy white saree through which her breasts were clearly visible and another in which she was shown breast-feeding a child.Mandakini acted in a few more successful films like Dance Dance with Mithun Chakraborty.She starred in Pyaar Karke Dekho with Govinda.Mandakini was allegedlly dating Dawood Ibrahim, in 1994 some photographs of her with Dawood gangster Dawood Ibrahim did the rounds. There were rumours that Mandakini was his mistress.But the actress vehemently denied all rumours.After Zordaar in 1996, Mandakini's career suffered a serious setback.
