Malappuram (Ker), Jun 18: Popular Malayalam actress Swetha Menon today got married at a temple in Valancherry in the district.The bridegroom Sreevalsan Menon, a native of Thrissur and working in Mumbai, tied the nuptial knot at the Neythalappurath Sastha Ayappa temple before relatives and friends.
Swetha is one of the busiest actresses in Malayalam these days.Sreevalsan Menon is the grandson of poet laureate Vallathol Narayana Menon and is working in Mumbai as a journalist for a London based company.Both of them had been dating for a long time.
Swetha obtained third place in the 1994 Miss India contest.In 2010, she was awarded the Best Actress award by the Kerala state government for her performance in Paleri Manikam.Swetha, whose first Malayalam film was ‘Anaswaram' in which megastar Mammotty was the hero, has acted in over 25 Malayalam films.
Her ‘Rathi Nirvedham', a remake of a Malayalam movie in the 1970s, was released in Kerala a couple of days ago. Swetha, a model earlier, had bagged the Kerala State Award for best actress for her role in Malayalam superhit film ‘Paleri Manickam', directed by Renjith, in which Mammotty was the hero.Actress Geethu Mohandas was among the few film personalities who attended the wedding.
