Mumbai: Actress Lara Dutta is on cloud nine after husband Mahesh Bhupati and Sania Mirza won the mixed doubles title at the French Open.
The 34-year-old took to Twitter to express her happiness, saying she is the "proudest, happiest wife" and that Bhupati is their daughter Saira's hero.
"Woken up to a flood of congratulatory messages. Thank you everyone! Daughter is wondering what the hulaballoo is all about in the guava orchard. I am the proudest, happiest wife tonite Mahesh Bhupathi. You are Saira's hero," Lara tweeted.
Lara married Bhupati last year and the couple welcomed their daughter Saira in January.
Others from the film industry also poured in congratulatory messages for Bhupati and Mirza, who defeated Santiago Gonzalez of Mexico and Klaudia Jans-Ignacik of Poland in the final Thursday at Roland Garros.
"Sania Mirza and Mahesh Bhupathi win the mixed doubles final at Roland Garros Tennis...Yippee! BUCK UP INDIA!," Amitabh Bachchan said.
Actor Riteish Deshmukh said, "Huge congratulations to Mahesh Bhupathi and Sania Mirza for winning the French Open." Actress Dia Mirza tweeted "Congratulations" while Neha Dhupia said, "Big congratulations to my friends Sania Mirza and Mahesh Bhupathi. You have made us all so proud."
Boman Irani, Manoj Bajpayee and Mandira Bedi also congratulated the duo.
