Bhopal, Nov 1: Making a pitch for ‘Save the Girl Child' programme launched by the Madhya Pradesh government, noted film actress Hema Malini today said she is lucky to have two daughters and the absence of a son does not bother her at all.
“The lack of sons in my life does not worry me at all. I am lucky as both my daughters would bring me readymade sons in the form of sons in-law,” Hema who is in the city to take part in the Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day celebrations based on the theme ‘Beti Bachao' told reporters here.
Asked whether corruption or ‘Beti Bachao Abhiyaan' (Save the Girl Child programme) was a bigger issue for her, she said the country was facing several problems and for solving them, all would be needed.
The yesteryear dream girl, in response to a query said it was wrong to dismiss her latest production ‘Tell Me O Khuda' as a flop as it released only four days back.
Hema said there was no need to compare her film with Shahrukh Khan's ‘Ra-One' as many prints of the super hero flick were released while fewer prints of TMOK hit the market.
Asked who would be a better Prime Ministerial candidate of the two—veteran BJP leader L K Advani and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi—the actor-turned-politician said the final decision on the matter will be taken by the party.
On her future plans, Hema said she would now concentrate on creating a dance-drama based on Ganga and Narmada rivers. The veteran danseuse will be performing a dance ballet ‘Durga' on the occasion.
