New Delhi, March 9: The veteran actress Jaya Bachchan was born on April 9 to Jabalpur-based journalist Taroon Kumar Bhaduri and his wife Indira. She commenced her acting career when she was 15 in a famous Bengali film “Mahanagar”.
She became an actress in her own right in Bollywood after the release of Guddi. She went on to star in many films, including Jawani Diwani, Uphaar, Anamika, just to name a few.
She acted with her husband Amitabh Bachchan in the hit films Zanjeer, Chupke Chupke and Sholay, proving superhit at the box-office, while Abhimaan, Kora Kagaz and Nauakar showered her with Filmfare Best Actress Award.
She married Amitabh Bachchan, and subsequently gave birth to Shweta and Abhishek.
