New Delhi: Karan Johar's extreme ‘baddie' look in Anurag Kashyap's ‘Bombay Velvet' is here. And one can severely peep through the latest out poster and have his/her laugh of the day.
Portraying the villain Kaizad Khambatta, he is ‘apparently' drunk and thus gazing through his heavy eyes with a glass of alcohol in one hand. Further as we go analyzing him, Karan is all suavely suited but visibly in his deep thoughts of probably checking out someone.
And this poster could straight away be the most unexpected look we anticipated this year. Karan as Kaizad Kambatta seems throwing an essence of aggression forcefully.
The character appears as if deliberately designed to give the audience a feel of villain. Unlike Bollywood baddies Aditya Pancholi, Prakash Raj, Dany DenZongpa who seem to be born as villains, Karan's aura on screen is that of a witty someone whose one liners and impromptu jigs always leave you in splits.

Though the makers appear to have tried with their complete heart and soul to make Karan look like a rigid villain, the efforts have not come as enough fruitful.
‘Bombay Velvet' marks Karan Johar's debut in Bollywood as an actor in a substantiate role and it would be a bit early to comment on his performance in the film. With its grounds in historian Gyan Prakash's book ‘Mumbai Fables,' the film is set in Bombay around 1960s and has an essence of a noir.
Releasing on May 15, ‘Bombay Velvet' also stars Anushka Sharma and Ranbir Kapoor in other pivotal characters.
