New Delhi: ‘Kapoor & Sons' is maybe Karan Johar's shot to bring conversations like homosexuality to the dinner table of India, something which he already tried in ‘Dostana'. Only this time, since the story is woven around a Punjabi family, it might have a bigger impact than that Abhishek Bachchan- John Abraham starrer.
We know Pakistani actor Fawad Khan plays a gay character in the movie and looks like the entire plot revolves around his equation with his on screen brother Sidharth Malhotra. A look at the trailer and we know that it tries hard to capture the problems of a typical Indian family.
The trailer of the ‘Kapoor & Sons' released today. Belonging to the Dharma Productions' banner, the movie is helmed by Shakun Batra and boasts of an ensemble cast including Rishi Kapoor, Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt, Fawad Khan, Rajat Kapoor and Ratna Pathak Shah.
Posters of the movie which released a few days ago pointed out that the film is going to be a never ending party. But the trailer shows otherwise.
The Kapoor house is home to loads of fun where every member is blessed with an impeccable sense of humour. However, behind the smiling faces are hidden issues of each individual. Alia, the outsider gets caught amidst the dysfunctional family.
The surprise element of the trailer is undoubtedly Rishi Kapoor. We have already been swayed by his transformation and his acting is bound to impress you. The bromance of Sidharth and Fawad is another high point of the movie.
