"We have sent a show-cause notice to Colors channel and to Kapil Sharma who is also the producer of the show for allegedly making fun of pregnant women in the episode aired on January 6," said public relations officer of the commission Manisha Nirbhavne.
She said the commission took cognisance of the issue after complaints were received from NGOs 'Kaidyane Waga' and 'Bharatiya Muslim Mahila Andolan'.
"We have asked them to give explanation within 15 days. If it is found that their explanation is not satisfactory we would ask them to appear before the commission for the hearing," Nirbhavne said.
