New Delhi:
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, his leading lady in films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, are arguably the most romantic screen couple.
Their relationship on screen is such that it makes you feel that love is made in heaven and comes alive on earth.
The fact that they are best friends in real life creates an impenetrable magic on screen. Theirs is undoubtedly the most successful jodi in tinsel ville. They appear the typical madly in love couple.
Their chemistry is unmatched. It may even put Shah Jahan's love story to shame and makes us question if it's all reel or real.
This DDLJ jodi has the Midas touch. Any movie they star together in creates record both in Indian and international markets.
Here on Kajol's birthday we bring you the list of their movies which made Shah Rukh the king of romance and Kajol, the queen of hearts.
There will be one more addition to this list soon, Dilwale, which releases later this year. We are sure it will not disappoint diehard fans of the couple.
Dilwale Dulhaniya Le jayenge(1995): This was a mega hit and is still running in a theatre in Mumbai. The story is about how a young man and woman - both of Indian descent but born and raised in Britain - fall in love during a trip to Switzerland. However, the girl's traditional father takes her back to India to fulfill a betrothal promise. The immortal character, Raj, played by Shah Rukh Khan created a flutter in the industry and established him as the king of romance while the innocent, docile Simran aka Kajol found her best friend in SRK.
Baazigar (1993): This was the movie which saw the coming together of the great romantic pair of Shah Rukh and Kajol for the first time.
Karan Arjun(1995): This rebirth saga starring Kajol and Shahrukh once again saw the length to which a guy will go to get the girl he is so madly in love with.
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai(1998): The dream debut of Karan Johar as a director changed the whole meaning of love and friendship. “Pyaar dosti hai” soon became a line which has inspired generations of lovers. The ease with which SRK and Kajol acted in this movie was unfathomable. Their sizzling chemistry in this iconic romance was and still is the reason for them being the most romantic couple of B-town.
Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham(2001): Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham went on to become a blockbuster hit in the year 2001. By this time they were the luckiest on screen jodi in Bollywood.
My Name Is Khan( 2010): They were last seen in Karan Johar's My Name Is Khan which was a simple portrayal of how love can overcome all odds. MNIK received a great response from the international market which simply adores the couple and the magic they create on screen.
