WHILE the rumour has been doing the rounds for some time, insiders confirm that John Abraham has been signed as the villain in Abbas-Mustan's sequel to their 2008 blockbuster, Race. It is a known fact that Saif Ali Khan and Anil Kapoor will return in Race 2, while earlier reports have suggested that Bipasha Basu might be replaced by Saif's superstar girlfriend Kareena Kapoor as his reel-life lover in the story this time.
Meanwhile, to up the glamour quotient, the makers incidentally are also looking to replace Sameera Reddy as Anil's heroine. They want a heroine who is more saleable at this point. Coming back to John, this will be his third negative role after Dhoom and Aetbaar, if he indeed signs Race 2.
Meanwhile, Abbas- Mustan have planned elaborate car chases and some underwater stunts for the sequel, shooting for which is scheduled to begin very soon.
