Indian Bridal Fashion week: Sonam Kapoor turns into a beautiful bride

New Delhi, Jul 28: Bollywood's style diva Sonam Kapoor walked the ramp for fashion czar Rohit Bal. The 4th day of the India Bridal fashion week saw his sophisticated designs integrating both traditional and modern worlds. His creative gestures were well reflected in these designs with models strutting like goddesses in embroidered long dresses.Photo Credits: Praveen Kumar The collection was very Indo-western, inspired by the Elizabethan era. The opulent setting with Bal's trademark lotus gave the ramp a mesmerizing, spellbinding touch with a showstopper who did complete justice to the mood and theme, it was a visual delight.Photo Credits: Praveen Kumar The show started with ever classic "Lag jaa gale" playing soothingly in the background. But what added to the already glamourous and high octane ambience was Sonam Kapoor's and Rohit Bal's spur-of-the-moment gig on the ramp on Bollywood classic 'Aa Jaane Jaa-'. It looked like a party on ramp with the audience having as much fun as the models and the duo. His choice of sexy, sensuous and naughty hindi songs of the golden era were the highlights of the show.He chose a beautiful white ‘malmal' lehenga for Sonam with intricate golden thread work and a maang tika on the side of her head, "During the last song when I looked back and saw Sonam dancing, that was the moment for me. She was dancing like Helen ji. Since the collection was purely Indian I selected some of my favourite Indian songs. All the songs were such where people could relate to them and I feel it's really important to create an ambiance with which people can relate,"Bal said. His collection defined timeless craftsmanship and beautifully experimented use of victorian collars, "achkanas", corsets and "angrakhas". He used Kashmiri embroidery on voils, malmul and velvet.Photo Credits: Praveen Kumar “I feel beautiful”, said Sonam smiling her big smile, "I always wanted to act in films which had this kind of music. But it was enough for me to walk, listen and be a part of it in some creative way", she was hardly the typical Indian bride, winking and blowing kisses to the crowd. She seemed to be on a roll.His collection' The Mulmul Masquerade' had a lot of black with a hint of red and white. Even men collection showcased a very intricately light embroidered sherwani and also a long anarkali like attire teamed with hanging tassles.
