Macau, July 6: A traditional Bollywood villain without a cigar, a glass of alcohol and chic outfits sounds as incomplete as a classic martini without ice! To celebrate the luxurious and stylish life of Hindi film baddies, five special drinks are doing the rounds at the IIFA extravaganza here.
Inspired by epic grey characters from Hindi films, and presented by Grey Goose vodka, the five themed drinks are being served at every after party here at the International Indian Academy (IIFA) weekend awards.
All the drinks are an innovation by Nitin Tewari, trade ambassador of Bacardi India.
"The idea is to get inspired by the grey era of Bollywood. The villains have always had a luxurious lifestyle and we wanted our drinks to reflect that," Tewari told IANS.
Grey Goose Warp Stone, which takes a cue from veteran actor K.N Singh's villainous portrayals in the 1950s' films, is a mix of vodka, martini rosso, cointreau and homemade bitter.
Actor Anupam Kher's dark and evil character of Dr.Dang in "Karma" has inspired the Grey Goose Shadow Weaver. The drink has sweet and sour vodka mixed with jasmine foam.
How can Bollywood's iconic 'lion' Ajit be forgotten in this list? Inspired by his roles is a drink called Grey Goose Destructeur, made by mixing vodka, orgeat syrup and bitters.
Actor Danny Denzonpa's character of Kancha Cheena in 1990 film "Agneepath" has led to the creation of Grey Goose Black Adept, which is a refreshing mix of vodka, cranberry and blue curacao.
There's also a female villain here in the list - actress Nadira's role in "Shree 420" - which has inspired Grey Goose Savateuse. The drink is simple yet classy with sweet and sour vodka and fresh mint topped with sparkling water.
Bollywood's vamps and villains were also the theme of the Grey Goose IIFA Rocks fashion and music here Friday night.
