Mumbai, Dec 7: Just one-film old, and actor Ranveer Singh became the talk of the town not only for his work but also for his alleged link-ups with Anushka Sharma and Sonakshi Sinha. But the newbie, who is looking forward to his next release ‘Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl', says he is not a Casanova.

He will seen opposite leading ladies - Anushka Sharma, Parineeti Chopra, Aditi Sharma and Dipannita Sharma in the film and does not mind being called the ‘Ladies Man'.

“It feels great to be termed as a ladies' man but that does not mean I am a Casanova, at least not in personal life.  People tend to confuse the real me with the reel me. It was a thrill during my teenage years when I was dating more than two girls at a time but that is a thing of the past,” Ranveer told PTI in an interview.

His on screen chemistry with actress Anushka Sharma has been much talked about since his debut film ‘Band Baaja Baarat' now even for this second film, he is paired opposite her, which has set the rumour mills working.

"I think these things are inevitable. I did a film with Anushka and I admit that our on-screen chemistry is extraordinary. When I began my career she was my only close friend. We catch movies together and after shoots grab a meal.  But beyond that, there is no relationship. We are still great friends. Doesn't she deserve someone better than me? She is beautiful, intelligent and independent,” he said.

Besides, on a chat show, Sonakshi Sinha had praised Ranveer and shown interest in working with him. She even went on to say that she would love to date the actor.

Later, at the IIFA awards in Toronto this year, when the two had a blast while performing on stage, it fuelled talks of their ‘closeness'. Now both will be seen together in director Vikramaditya Motwane's next outing ‘Lootera'.

“With Sonakshi I am doing a film ‘Lootera', I feel too much is written about us which does not even exist. I have just met her on four occasions and all of them have been professional,” he said.

Ranveer, who claims to be single, took the industry and the audience by storm with his performance in his debut film, for which he grabbed awards at almost all ceremonies. With so much accolades he does feel like a bankable star.

“I hope that the point (bankable star) is driven home with my second film. It is very important to have a good start, which I got in ‘Band Baaja Baarat' but it is all the more important to consolidate it. I want to show my range as an actor and not just be known as Bittoo Sharma. I hope Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl does well,” Ranveer said.

Ask him does he feel like a star, and pat comes the reply, “No. I don't know what it means to feel like a star.  Honestly, after ‘Band Baaja Baarat' life has become really tough because I don't have any time for myself. I work like a dog, but I'm not complaining. I am just a normal guy who goes to work every day.”

Though he is just one-film-old in B-town but the expectations from him does scare the young actor.

“I think expectations or no expectations, both help in different situations. Last year, when BBB released I was making my debut. The audience did not show any interest.  Somewhere, it worked, because people walked in without any expectations and came out liking the film. This time expectations are high and we are trying to live up to it,” he said.

“Its a bit daunting and I guess this is going to happen with each of my releases. I don't think any filmmaker or actor can be over-complacent or over-confident about a film. At the end of the day, its the audience that gives the verdict. If you don't entertain them, it surely isn't a good sign for any film,” he added. ‘Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl' opens in theatres on December 9.
