New Delhi: Hate Story 3 surprised one and all with its opening day figure of 9.72 crore. An ‘A' certificate film having lesser known faces minting higher numbers on Day 1 than films like ‘Drishyam', ‘Piku' and ‘Badlapur' was something that nobody expected.
The third film of the Hate Story franchise continued its good run over the weekend and fetched fantastic numbers on Day 2 and Day 3 as well.
The multi-starrer film collected 8.05 crore on Saturday and 9.05 crore on Sunday, thus, taking its three day total to 26.82 crore which is mind-boggling for a film that was made on budget of 6.5 crore + 6.7 crore for print & advertising. It has also surpassed the lifetime collections of both the previous parts Hate Story (15 crore) and Hate Story 2 (25 crore).
Entering into the safe zone in its first weekend itself, the film is the success story of the year. An year which has seen films starring actors such as Shahid Kapoor (Shaandaar), Ranbir Kapoor (Bombay Velvet), Imran Khan (Katti Batti) and Emraan Hashmi (Humari Adhuri Kahani) fail miserably at the box office.
This indeed is a very good news for all the four actors of the film. As for the makers, their successful run with the Hate Story series continues and we could expect the fourth part very soon.
