Shah Rukh Khan again shows Bollywood that he is the only king of cinema. His latest release Happy New Year starring Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Sonu Sood, Boman Irani and Vivaan Shah has broken all records and earned Rs 45 crore on day 1.
Diwali blockbuster Happy New Year now holds the record for the biggest opening day collection, reports Box Office India.

Rajesh Thadani of Multimedia Combines told IANS, "It had bumper opening. The occupancy was 80 percent at most places. The opening weekend collection will be really good because of holiday. Let's see if it will be able to maintain the figures Monday onwards."
The previous record for opening day collections was held by Aamir Khan's Dhoom: 3 which made Rs 32 crores on day 1. Bollywood's top Khans - Shah Rukh, Aamir and Salman - have dominated the Bollywood box office in recent years, smashing each others' records with films like 3 Idiots, Dabangg, Ek Tha Tiger and Chennai Express.
Produced by Shah Rukh's Red Chillies Entertainment Pvt Ltd, the Farah Khan directorial is a heist drama and the team was seen travelling from city to city to promote the film.
“Loved and enjoyed HNY' at the dubai grand premiere and a fun after party @TheFarahKhan @iamsrk @deepikapadukone @juniorbachchan,” ace fashion designer Manish Malhotra tweeted.
Trade analyst Komal Nahta said that it is a “definite earner”.
“It will make money for everybody. The movie got great opening all over the country. It is one of the best openings ever,” he added.
