New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday ordered Bollywood Actor Govinda to apologize for slapping a fan after observing that the film star should not indulge in fighting at a public place.
The actor had slapped a fan named Govind Rai in the year 2008 after which a criminal case was filed against him.
The decision came today after a bench headed by Justice T S Thakur watched the video clips of the slap incident in open court and objected to the behaviour of the actor.
In the order, bench said, “He is a public figure and he should not have indulged in such activities. He does not need to do in real life what he does in reel life”.
With its direction, the court gave a way out to Govinda for out of court settlement of the prolonged issue.
