One of the most exuberant actresses of Bollywood, Genelia D'Souza, turns 29 on 5th August and seems quite contented with her life so far.
The actress is busy looking after her eight months old son and is certainly enjoying her motherhood.
Genelia has always preferred staying away from the limelight off the screen, but her liveliness and charm both off and on the screen have indeed earned her numerous followers.
Genelia was born in Mumbai into a Mangalorean Catholic family of Neil and Jeanette D'Souza on 5th Aug 1987. During her childhood, the actress was an athlete and played national level football.
Career
Despite being an amazing actress, she never aimed to be in the glamour industry ever and wanted to join an MNC after completing her degree in Management. But destiny had different plans for her.
Although she made her debut in Bollywood with Tujhe Meri Kasam in 2003 opposite Riteish Deshmukh, she had already gained attention as a model after working in commercials like Parker Pen with Amitabh Bachchan and Fair and Lovely during the 2003 Cricket World Cup.
Genelia's performance in Tujhe Meri Kasam was appreciated by all and this led to her debut in Tollywood. Thereafter Genelia worked in various Telugu movies and became a famous name in the South. Meanwhile she also did another Bollywood flick, Masti, which was a multi starrer comedy film.
After a five year break from Bollywood, this vivacious actress made a comeback. And then came her breakthrough performance in “Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na” opposite Imran Khan. The film was a blockbuster hit and is said to be the best performance of Genelia till date. After this she also worked in several Bollywood and Tollywood films.
Genelia was last seen in cameo appearances in Jai Ho and Lai Bhaari in 2014.
Love Life
Genelia first met Riteish on the sets of her debut film ‘Tujhe Meri Kasam' in 2003 which was apparently Riteish's debut film as well. Although she though Riteish, being a CM's son, would be a spoilt brat, to her surprise, Riteish turned out to be extremely humble and polite with everybody on the sets.
And gradually the duo became the best of friends. With time the fondness grew between them and love bloomed.
Love was never a sudden thing for them. In fact it was a rather slow process, where they first got to know each other and before they could realise it, they were in love!
However, there was no official proposal between the couple.
After dating each other for a good nine years, Genelia married her beau Riteish on 3rd February 2012 in Maharashtrian and Catholic traditions.
It's been three years since their marriage and even now the couple seem to be head over heels in love with each other.
Motherhood
Genelia has experienced the best of every phase of life, be it friendship, relationship, marriage and now motherhood.
The gorgeous actress gave birth to a baby boy on 25th November 2014 – Riann Riteish Deshmukh. And she feels that being a mother is the most rewarding feeling.
The couple also welcomed their second child on June 1 and they named him Rahyl. Genelia shared the first glimpse of her new born son on Instagram lately.
From being a vivacious actress to a happy mom, Genelia feels that now it's all about her baby as he is her top most priority. She is enjoying every bit of motherhood along with her hubby Riteish.
