Mumbai: Actress Gautami Kapoor will be seen in new show "Khelti Hai Zindagi Aankh Micholi" and says unlike other daily soaps, it has less melodrama and display of over-the-top emotions.

Produced by Esselvision, the show to be aired on Zee TV traces the life of a teenage girl called Ami (Ulka Gupta) and what happens after she loses her father. In the show, Gautami plays Ami's mom.

"We are trying to have less melodrama, crying and all that in the show. We will try to handle the problems coming our way in the show naturally," Gautami said here Monday on the set of the show.

"Even when we face the problems in real life, there is no melodrama and this is what we will try to show in the show," added the actress who was last seen on the small screen in "Kyunki... Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi...". The actress was also seen in the hit movie "Student Of The Year".

Reportedly, "Khelti Hai..." was to go on-air Sep 9 onwards, but its launch has been delayed for unknown reasons, but the actress is hopeful and said: "I hope you (audience) like it when you watch it."

Not revealing too much about her character, she said: "I play the character of a modern woman in the show."

Ulka, who became popular as Jhansi Ki Rani in the show "Ek Veer Stree Ki Kahaani... Jhansi Ki Rani", said her character is immature.

"Ami is an immature kind of a girl. Her father dies and she was very attached to him. She is independent, not bothered about anyone. She enjoys her life fully. She is happy and bubbly," said Ulka

"For me, it's totally different... This is something new for me to do, so I am doing and enjoying," she added.
