Mumbai: A sobbing Gauahar Khan today demanded the sternest punishment for the man who slapped her on the sets.
The Bollywood actress said she had full faith in Indian judiciary. "Whatever happened with me, I hope law will definitely take its own course."
The Bollywood actress, who was slapped by the man onstensibly for wearing skimpier clothes, said "Nobody has the right to beat up anybody for wearing short clothes."
Gauahar Khan said she still had swelling on her face because of the slap.
The actress wept several times while narrating her ordeal at the press conference. She said, she was unable to forget the humiliation she went through.
"Soon after he slapped me, I shouted not to leave that man alone", she clarified.
The actress was slapped by a member of the audience, while she was hosting "India's Raw Star", a reality show at Film City in Goregaon on Monday.
The man who slapped her said, "being a Muslim woman, she should not have worn such a short dress", says Aarey Colony police.
The man has been identified as Mohammed Aqil Malik, aged 24 years.
The man not only slapped her but also touched her inappropriately during the show break, but was immediately overpowered by security guards deployed at the sets. He was later handed over to police.
